Artist Exchange's 13th annual production of A Christmas Carol

Experience the magic of the holidays with a fresh adaptation of a timeless tale!

An award-winning production described by New York Times best-selling author Ann Hood as “the show that’s giving the Trinity Rep classic a run for its money” and by RI Film and Television Office Executive Director Steven Feinberg as “a fresh approach to a heartwarming classic… a local gem.” After two weekends of preview performances at Artists’ Exchange, Theatre 82 & Café, the show will travel to the Park Theatre’s glorious stage.

Adapted and directed by Jessica Chace, this year’s show is not your typical “A Christmas Carol” although still based on Charles Dickens’ classic novel and rooted in its themes.

Tom Chace is Music Director and also portraying Ebenezer Scrooge (don’t miss the cameo of Bob Colonna as Elderly Scrooge). Community actors of all abilities and ages - from kids to teens, adults and senior citizens - make up the merry ensemble.

Set in modern day America, the show revolves around “being connected” and uses technology, projections, and more. Twists, surprises, and heartfelt moments are found throughout Scrooge’s journey to reclamation: Marley’s a woman; Scrooge & Marley’s partnership runs deeper; Freddie’s marriage is unconventional; the Cratchits have new family dynamics; and much more!

Show dates at the Park Theatre are Thurs. December 15th at 7pm, Fri. December 16th at 7pm, Sat. December 17th at 2pm and at 8pm. Also, join us for a pre-show Holiday Gala on 12/17 at Rhodes on the Pawtuxet prior to the finale performance at the Park!
